Reconciliation Australia (RAP)
09 Nov

At Globalnet Solutions, we pride ourselves on being a diverse and inclusive workplace.

This is reflected by our commitments in hiring a diverse workforce, in undertaking social ethical procurement initiatives, and, more recently, in developing a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

Reconsiliation Action Plan Reflect

We initiated the development of a RAP in order to help formalise the process towards engaging more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and businesses. We have been working on this in partnership with Yarrunup, an Aboriginal organisation that has direct links with the community and has taken the initiative to listen and understand their needs and opinions when committing to reconciliation.

We came to the conclusion that having a RAP will not only cement our commitment to reconciliation but also incentivise our employees to pursue initiatives and relationships showcasing our commitment to reconciliation. We are now pleased to announce that we have been officially regarding our Reflect RAP.

This means that in the following months our team will be busy transforming our RAP commitments into actions. We will continue to strive to create a culturally safe workplace with people who acknowledge and celebrate the rich culture and diverse capacity of Australia’s First People.

What does this mean for you (our customer)?

By working with Globalnet Solutions, a RA endorsed the organisation, you are working with an organisation that:

The Six Vines of Connection” by Jai Raynolds

Yarrnup put us in touch with Jai Reynolds. He is an Aboriginal artist who, after understanding the nature and mission of our business, realised a custom piece of art who tell the unique story of Globalnet Solutions Australia: “The Six Vines of Connection”.

This is what Jai says when asked to describe the creative process and the meaning of his artwork:

The circular globe at the bottom of the painting represents the core foundation of the business which is a solution-oriented service. This is also my Indigenous interpretation of Globalnet’s logo. The globe was also drawn to represent the circle of continuity that showcases Globalnet initiative to walk hand in hand with the Traditional owners toward reconciliation.

The vines coming from that circle represent the six main service offering at Globalnet Solutions and include, Networking, Security, Disaster Recovery. Private Cloud & Co-Location, Procurement Services as well as Managed Services.

The leaves on these vines represent all the touchpoints with various communities and the prospective Indigenous partnerships, stakeholder relationships, attraction and retention of employees that the execution of this Reflect RAP will aim to achieve.

The blending of the colours in the patterns represents the intended transition and evolutions toward reconciliation, synchronising Globalnet Solutions Australia, the Information Technology Industry and Indigenous Australia.
