National Reconciliation Week 2021
26 May

This year, 2021, marks twenty years since the launch of Reconciliation Australia and almost three decades of the Australian formal reconciliation process.

Today, 27 May 2021, we would like to join Reconciliation Australia and the other business that support it in the promotion of National Reconciliation Week.

At Globalnet Solutions, we recognise and respect the unique culture and contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people bring to our communities, and, as such, we would like to help amplify First Nation’s voices in asking for reconciliation and justice.

What is National Reconciliation Week?

National Reconciliation Week (NRW), 27 May to 3 Jun, is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

National Reconciliation Week 2021 (#NRW2021)

Reconciliation Australia’s theme for 2021 is “More than a word. Reconciliation Takes action” and it urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.

Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations, and, more importantly, as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Recently we have been endorsed on our Reflect RAP and this is the first year we take an active part in NRW.

We feel honored and privileged to be able to support Reconciliation Australia and the broader Aboriginal community during this year. We are committed to promoting inclusivity, raising awareness, equal procurement, employment, and development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This year’s theme graphics are drawn from the artwork poster design ‘Action’ by Jessica Johnson of Nungala Creative.

The artwork reflects our connection and mutual obligation to one another, community and Country. Through commonality and difference, we have the ability to come together and achieve real change.

We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.
